Marriage Monday!

HTB is no longer HTB - he is now officially my Hubby, Hubs, Hubster, the Husband as of Saturday afternoon :)

It was a wonderful wedding, and everything went off without a hitch! Many many thanks go out to everyone who helped make this day so special!

Sadly I do not have any honeymoon pictures to share with you just yet (except for a picture of my cat hiding out in the pocket of my suitcase) Due to Hurricane Irene our flight was canceled, and we've been through hell and back trying to get a new one. At first Orbitz told us to contact Continental, but when we tried to contact Continental, they were not responding to our calls, and the one time we did get through they hung up on us after we had been on hold for four hours. Then, when we called Orbitz back, they changed their story and said they could help us, but all the flights they could put us on were sold out and that we would have to cancel our honeymoon and get a refund. Then, they claimed the refund would take 45 days to go through! We decided to go down to the airport anyways, and, finally found someone who was willing to help us. Sadly, there was nothing she could do to get us out before Wednesday, but, she did find a flight that had open seats that left on Friday. As our only other option was to delay our honeymoon till January, and who knows what financial or familial situation we would be in by then, we opted to take the Friday tickets because, hey, 9 days in Ireland is better than no days in Ireland.

To add insult to injury though, by that point Hurricane Irene had been downgraded to a Tropical Depression, and had already passed by Newark, the airport we were supposed to have our layover at. So, while I appreciate that Continental was just trying to think of our safety, clearly they could have waited until closer to the flight to see if they really needed to cancel it or not and it would have saved a lot of people a lot of problems.

But our lesson is learned. In the future we will not be dealing with Orbitz, since their customer service is some of the WORST I have ever experienced, and, if we ever go to Ireland again, we'll be taking a flight that goes over the pole instead.
