Back to our regularly scheduled programming...

Now that the mad rush to get the chemise finished is over with (You would think I would have learned by now not to procrastinate on projects like that...) I have returned to the Harry Potter scarves. Since HTB's scarf had been neglected because it's just so much easier to work on the Gryffindor scarf at work, I've been working on it to get it caught up. As of today I'm only one stripe behind;

The chemise turned out beautifully by the way - I'll have more details on that on Friday.

In the meantime, be sure to check out Tami's Amis for more Works in Progress:

  1. That scarf is looking so nice! :) You're tempting me to make scarves (and I think everyone knows how much I hate 'em)!

    I can't wait to see the photos you got, especially with what you've said about the chemise!

  2. It's looking good! I'd admire your motivation to be able to work on more than one HP scarf at once. When I made mine, it was all I could do just to finish that!

  3. Thanks for your lovely comment. Slytherin FTW ;)

  4. @Wypad - You would think that I would hate scarves by now too. I mean, this is what? My fifth one over all? I know it's at least the 3rd harry potter one.

    @Wrchili - I think it helps that they're being knitted two different ways. The Gryffindor scarf is in the round, so it's just row after row of knit stitch, and while that can be a bit mind numbing, it's pretty quick once you get the hang of it! This one is a little tougher since it's k1p1.

    @Kathleen - I know Slytherin is supposed to be a darker emerald green, but I love this avocado shade of green so much! LOVE IT! In fact, I also have a skirt in it that I wear out at the Renn Faire. LOL

    @Leah - You're very welcome!

  6. The scarf is looking awesome! Are you trying to finish both by the movie premiere!?

  7. @Marushka - I'll be happy if I can just get the gryffindor scarf done by the movie release. The coworker I'm making it for is really keen on wearing it when he goes to see the movie with his kids (I love working at a computer game company - I'm surrounded by fellow nerds!)

    @Tami - I'm just trying to get this one done by the honeymoon. HTB and I originally planned to visit London and take pictures at King's Cross station, however we didn't have the time or the money for that, but HTB still wants to wear the scarf while we wander around Ireland. I have some yarn to make a ravenclaw one that I'll be casting on for myself as soon as the Gryffindor one is done. I don't know if I'll get that one done in time for Ireland, but it'll give me something to do on the plane ride over!
