Words cannot describe how much I love watching this guy on TV. He always has a blast, gets to visit some amazing places, and has a lot of really cool and funny stories to tell (I cannot recommend his book enough).

Meatlocker Monday - Adventurer Style...
I don't know if you've seen it, but there's a pretty awesome show on SyFy called Destination Truth. In it a team goes around and investigates reports of paranormal activity and sightings of unusual creatures. The team is led by a really awesome archaeologist who goes by the name of Josh Gates.

Welcome to the meatlocker Josh.

Finished Object the Seventh...
So that bodice? I got it done in time! Didn't it turn out lovely?
However, I didn't wear it for very long - it was very hot on Sunday (VERY VERY HOT. The weather sites said it was only supposed to be 80 degrees, but I think it was closer to 100) and I ended up stripping down to my shirt and my bloomers halfway through the afternoon in an attempt to beat the heat (it didn't work. Ho boy did it not work)
But it's still a very lovely bodice :)

WIP Wednesday the Fifty First...
As you know, the Husband and I found a way for us to go the last day of the local Ren Faire - which meant that I had to get snapping on my bodice. So most of Wednesday and Thursday night was spent sewing these:
Into these:
And putting everything else together:
The gimp braid for the back was a little short, so I couldn't fold the end over to make it look all nice and pretty like I wanted to. However, a zig zag stitch covered that up:
Saturday was spent sewing the boning channels:
And the front to the back:
(I accidentally cut out the right side of interfacing twice - so I had to improvise)
The inside was also sewn to the outside and then the tabs were added. I also did the grommeting:
My hand still hurts from setting all those grommets. Ugh!
Did I get it down in time? I guess you'll have to check back on Friday and see!

WIP Wednesday the Fiftieth!
I have not made as much progress on my knitting or my crochet due to the fact that work has been really really busy. I've been going in early to help out, and then by the time I get home I'm so exhausted that I end up falling asleep on the couch. But I can't do that anymore - the husband and I decided that we will be going to the Renn Faire this weekend so I have to buckle down and get this bodice finished ASAP.
Tonight was spent cutting out the fabric for the bodice:

(Murphy is wondering why I am playing with fabric and not petting him)
(An idea for the shoulder tabs)
I also started playing around with ideas for the boning. I had run out of boning, so I had to borrow from a friend, and all she had left was 1/4" wide boning. I'm used to working with 1/2" wide boning, which is a little more supportive. However, the 1/4" wide boning means I can use/have to use more boning in the bodice over all:
I think the most bones I've used in a bodice was ten. This style means that there will be 22 bones over all.
Tomorrow I start sewing the lining together, piecing the front and decorations together, and applying the decorative bits. Check back next week to see if I make my deadline or not!
